Red Banded Cortinarius
At least I think that is what they are. We went for a walk through the forest , then over the hill to Port Ann today. Such a beautiful warm sunny day, a real delight to be meandering up and down hill with Oscar and John.
The forest path was full of so many interesting mushrooms, many of them already eaten and full of holes. I spotted a beautiful red mushroom which looked fine until I got up close , a shiny black slug was nestled underneath it eating away at it. I did blip it as the contrast between the shiny black and the red top and white gills worked well. Binned it in the end , didn't like it after all. Hey ho that's how it goes!
John chose this as his favourite so it is tonight's blip.
Hope you all had a great day.
