Late-Afternoon Red-Pine Stand
Today's choice was difficult. Despite some fabulous orange sugar-maple colors and almost rainbow-colored prairie grasses this afternoon in Silverwood Park, I was drawn back to this photo of a red pine stand. I perhaps should mention that nearly all my recent photos have been taken on afternoon or evening walks with Maddy the pooch in the same park. It has proven quite a discovery: not far from where we live, and so many mature trees, a gorgeous lake, moderately tame deer, and even some beautiful gardens, woods, and a meadow of prairie grass. But I am a woodland woman at heart, and I particularly love the red and white pines, so there it is.
