Flowering Trees

This plantation of pink flowering trees looked so unusual that I had to pull over and capture them. I had no idea what kind of tree they were so later on I investigated.

They appear to be ornamental flowering trees called 'Paulownia' which originate in China. When young they grow up to 20ft in one year! Their wood has various uses such as furniture and musical instrument making, and is very lightweight.
