Future slum, azure sky

Back to Sheffield and after a long and busy week I took a slight detour on my way home from work to Waitrose, as they stock beers from my favourite local brewery Thornbridge.

Walking across the car park I glanced up at the Velocity apartment tower which I think is the largest in Sheffield and, despite being finished a while, looked largely empty with few signs of inhabitants. It was only the sun reflecting off the building and the clear blue sky that drew my eye to it.

At least Sheffield hasn't built too many of these, like Leeds and Manchester. Luxurious apartments of now, high rise slums of the future.
