Cherry Blossom
The busy-ness continues - taught 3 periods then headed out to Rabbit Island with 140-odd year 11's who were completing their 5km run assessment. What a glorious part of the world we live in - to have such an area on our doorsteps in such easy access of school is very special indeed.
The weather was a glorious spring day - the tide was high - and the kids were great. They put in a very fine effort and were an absolute pleasure to be in the company of.
Back to work just in time for the end of the school day. I then spent a couple of hours catching up on tasks, sitting in an almost 'stunned mullet' state then outside taking shots of the blossom....
These cherry blossom trees grace the main quad. For about 2 weeks each year they look absolutely stunning - it's just that those 2 weeks are usually holiday weeks!
With the changes to the school year this year, everyone is still at school whilst the trees are doing their thing - and they really do look stunning.
Off home for a quick change then out to a fund-raising quiz night. Somehow we managed to fluke 3rd place which was pretty pleasin - but not nearly as pleasing as the feeling of rest when I finally managed to lay my head on my pillow. Bliss. Pink, fluffy, beautiful bliss!
