It isn't a pretty sight! It is a building site!

This image is for our daughter, to let her see how things have changed.

The builders, our new neighbours for 6 months (possibly less), started work yesterday. In the space of three hours they had found a bell-shaped, underground, rainwater cistern that straddles the boundary between our properties, thereby complicating building plans.

Because it was warm and sunny I got on with varnishing the window frames at the back. An hour later one of the workmen was grinding brick dust into the air which has conveniently bonded with the varnish.

Still, the workmen seem pleasant enough.
