Day One

After spending much of the week clearing up at work, today meant doing something similar at home - and sorting things out for the first trip away.

Uncovering this, now well-used coaster, started me reflecting on the steps in getting to now.

We visited Loch An Eilein in the Cairngorms in February 2010 and almost got stuck. Being holed up in our hotel for a couple of days gave us time to think about what to do next - we decided to look for a house on Shetland and to try and engineer the opportunities to spend time there. The coaster was a gift from my other half which has served to remind me over the last few months that other places and plans do exist.
