Without Malice

By aforethought

Last Light

Today I watched a great game of rugby, and was both tribally cheered and ultimately deflated - odd sensations from watching a bunch of (mostly) unknown men wrestle with a misshapen ball on the other side of our fragile planet. Such is the human condition.

Beyond that, I think I was amazed by the attitude of commentators and fans - particularly with regard to partiality. I would hope commentators could set it aside somewhat, and I would expect fans to have it in buckets. But either way, it can be done with grace.

And finally... the lights are perhaps out for Scotland's campaign, which would be a shame given the great rugby they have played. But there's always next time... and of course I am sure Georgia are as keen to beat Argentina as the Scots are that they do!
