End of the Season

Today marked the end of the tourist season up here. This is the passenger ferry that sails between Orkney and John O'Groats, and that's it until the beginning of May next year. Over the winter the pontoon is moored here in the bay, which is relatively sheltered, but the ferry goes back to John O'Groats.

Excellent long walk with Ollie this morning, and all his fluffy, woolly cleanness has been replaced by muddiness and bedraggled scuffiness! Photos didn't do him justice, so you got a ferry instead!
