Good Bye Big Yin
My father-in-law died on this day.
He was big in stature and big in character.
As sports go, running is not an easy one. He'd been a runner most of his life and was actively competing when I first met him. When he was less able physically he continued to support his club and to encourage all the younger members. He took me under his wing when I took up running.
What mattered to him was taking part, it didn't matter about your ability or what others thought, it was more important just to run your own race and do your best.
I'll miss him.
