Saturn seen through leylandii

Have been informed by Sirohada that this is Saturn, not Venus as I thought. I hasten to add that the he leylandii belongs to a neighbour, not me.

A lovely day: cycling followed by an ice creams enjoyed on the grass in front of the castle walls. I was then invited to dinner with the couple who are setting up our community garden - they've put me in charge of the herb bed so any suggestions for hardy herbs will be appreciated. They're great cooks with a wonderful store of anecdotes. They also have a varied collection of musical instruments; I had a short serenade from Martin on the clarinet. A fabulous evening.
