Seen any whales?

I wasn't content to let them down south have all the nice weather when we suffered with dreich, gloomy greyness so packed up the tent and drove us all to Goswick on the Berwickshire coast. The Met office told me this area would be the northern limit of the heatwave.

As usual, it was not to be so we pretended to enjoy the grey beach. At least it wasn't raining.

Anyway, whilst excavating the moat of the fairy sandcastle, this trio appeared over the dunes. "Excuse me, have you seen a stranded whale anywhere?"

"Not us" we replied in unison.

They continued to walk towards the sea and disappeared over the horizon on their quest.
