The new NMS
Whilst the rest of the country continues to bask in glorious sunshine and an Indian summer (déjà vu from yesterday's blip perhaps?), Edinburgh was rather rainy and miserable this morning...
Rainy and miserable weather is museum weather. So this afternoon my mum and I popped along to the newly re-opened National Museum of Scotland. We'd visited the natural history section on my birthday in mid September, but that's all we've seen so far. Today we visited some of the World Cultures exhibit, which was really interesting. It was odd though, to see various objects from Nigeria that are older (and often more intricate) versions of many of the decorations we bought whilst living there and that now decorate our flat here in Edinburgh.
We don't have one of these though - a terracotta statue from Nigeria.
