Shugborough Estate

Ventured up the M6 today to visit Shugborough Estate, a supposedly NT property (but it's looked after by Staffordshire County Council and therefore is only partially free for NT members. Little bit of NT minutiae for you there). The bits we couldn't get into (without paying) looked good - a working farm, craft shops and a presumably 'ye olde' candy store. A tranquil setting on a muggy cloudy day - we left the sun behind as we went further up the M6 - and a fairly good cream tea. 7/10 for that, in our cream tea battle.
