The Toddler Hangover...
As the association football pundits theorise, "it's a game of two halves". Today was a day of two halves. We had Annie over for a sleepover last night and the festivities lasted well into the 23rd hour of the day. Partly due to excitable toddlers, partly due to the logistics of room sharing and sleeping arrangements but all in all, waaaay too late a night, evidenced clearly in the mood in the morning.
So the first half of today was spent really just avoiding grumpy fits for a 5 year old who isn't used to 7ish hours of sleep and the especially explosive one came when mummy had to leave for work and Bethany had to be dragged from her leg and was then slapping hands on the window during waving off time. It was not pretty and was only appeased by a lot of gentle cuddling and rocking in my arms for 20 minutes.
After lunch we managed a bit more civility where we canned the bus adventures up to Dunfermline in lieu of an afternoon of baking a generally lazing about the house while the weather reminded us that it was in fact autumn and not the last throws of summer that we were conned into on Friday.
Right, I'm off for a slice of banana bread and a cheese and spinach muffin.

Notes on the Picture...
This is the finishing touches being put to the homework project. It was to make a 2D or 3D model of an animal that goes out at night. Bethany went for an owl. I attached the wings for her using daddy super-duper-glue but aside from that, she did it all her self and it does look rather spectacular if I don't say so myself. I may get a sneaky blip of the finished article tomorrow before I leave for work.
