Mixed bag and more

Just returned from the Arboretum where they were presenting awards for the annual members photography exhibit. There were two awards: the President's Choice and the People's Choice. Guess who won the People's Choice award? What a surprise and what fun! There were 300+ votes in the People's Choice category. No idea how many votes my photo received.

Other than that it has been a real mixed bag of a weekend. Yesterday's cross country meet was a chilly, soggy mess, as you read in my blip. Then last night our granddog Milly, the sheepdog, got "skunked" in their own front yard, ran in the house and brought the smell in with her, necessitating a thorough cleaning of the dog and the house.

Last night Bob and I were in the emergency room at the hospital until almost 3 am because I had one of my occasional bouts of rapid heart rate. My pulse, which should have been on the south side of 80 beats per minute, was at 180 beats. Very unnerving and exhausting. Then this afternoon we found out that Sadie, the much loved dog of our granddaughter Carrie and her family, has died. A big loss because Sadie has been in their family for many years, and she was a very sweet girl.

The weekend is almost over, and I can't say I'm sorry about that. I hope the persistent rain leaves with the weekend, and we see some blue skies in the week ahead.
