"Just one of those days"

We've taken advantage of the free family ticket that was published in this weeks Radio Times... We've been to the grounds before but never the house or the gardens.... Living so close we thought we should and support a local trust attraction rather than go further a field.

It's a beautiful old house that is looked after very well and doesn't have that museum feel to it you can get quite up close to the things in the rooms and the staff are very friendly and informative.

The gardens are lovely too filled with rose's and produce that is used in the lovely little cafe there.. The grounds and park area are lovely complemented by the warm weather we had today, was a bit strange seeing everyone walking about in short sleeved tops and lots in shorts, while kicking around the piles if golden yellow and orange fallen leaves.

When we got home we did have the BBQ has planned for yesterday even though by this time it was raining.... Once the food was cooked we retreated into the conservatory.... Think that was our first and last BBQ of the year.

Had a lovey day, warm but not too sunny, with a late showery day in yorkshire. X
