their element
Nice tiles. If it didn't rain they would need to be there so when it rains they're at their happiest, justifying themselves and exhibiting their proper colour with their nice wet shininess as they protect the vulnerable things underneath them. In this case they're unlikely to be protecting anything nice as they're on a little forgotten building between Meadow Lane and the uni car park at the rear of Buccleuch Place. Maybe the car park janitor sort of person keeps spare cones and things in there. In their own little way maybe the tiles are expressing their dissatisfaction by slouching a little near that gable.
Just remembered something I witnessed on Friday lunchtime which disturbed me a little. I was buying some nice grippy winter camera-maniplation glubs from Nevisport (saving an whole pound and fiftypence with the office ski club discount) when a CANNED MUSIC COVER VERSION version of Radiohead's Subterranean Homesick Alien started playing on their loudspeaks. Whilst there are obviously plenty of people around the place with a sense of dignity, proportion and access to a selection of popular moral standards it seems there are a significant number evidently lacking therein. I suppose the mere existence of the popular music charts indicates a significant supply of musicians who fall into the second category. I hope if any of thoe involved in the track ever hear their recording that they will break down and confess right there and then, hoping that they are in a merciful shop where the end would be quick.
Honestly...
I have now been to the shops four times since we ran out of washing powder. Each time I have forgotten to buy some more.
Honestly...
