Falmouth 350

2011 marks the 350th anniversary of the signing of the royal charter for Falmouth. October 5th 1661 King Charles II signed the act, thereby making Falmouth an official town.

There are various things happening this week to celebrate this. Today we knew there was to be a parade through town of various dignitaries. We had also heard that the Band of HM Royal Marines were leading the parade. However, as Falmouth has it's own Marine Band we weren't entirely sure what to expect.

Anyway we got down nice and early to enjoy a drink in the sunshine in Events Square and were not disappointed. The Band of HM Royal Marines put on a splendid display which even the children thoroughly enjoyed!
