No, it's a view of a staircase in the Barbican Centre, London, in the early evening on an extraordinarily sunny and warm October Sunday.

We were there for a concert (itself splendid ? LSO, Uchida, Davis: Haydn, Nielsen and Beethoven ? but a different story). However, the clear blue sky, even as the sun was going down, suggested that some exterior photographs would make an interesting record. So following on round from the staircase, we have

The continuation of Lakeside Terrace;

Gilbert House;

St Giles Cripplegate;

And a fountain in the lake.

Is this what 6pm on an October evening usually looks like in London?
