Pointless

Well today was a bit of a waste of 5 hours.

Well I may be being dramatic, cause i'm in that kind of a mood, but it wasn't useful to myself at all. We went to Sussex University, for the day. Started off a bit late, so we missed our introduction and skipped straight to the campus tour. Where we walked into the library and out again, then proceeded to walk around all the accommodation buildings. After which we had some lunch followed by a talk in this baking hot, stuffy, lecture theatre about how to choose a university, the UCAS application process and how to write decent personal statements.

When in actual fact most people have almost completed their personal statements due to our school's personal deadlines to ensure success. Personally, as i'm not applying at all this year, I've removed myself from the whole pressure by telling them to stop nagging me cause i'm not doing it till i'm ready. However most other people have finished. Also we've also been told all the stuff before. UCAS application information may be important to some, who weren't listening last time we were told, but as when I do start to apply next year, I won't be using UCAS it doesn't help me a great deal as CUKAS isn't that simple.

Generally I wasn't that taken with Sussex Uni. I mean it wasn't too bad, the canteen was quite nice, and there was a coop. But the buildings were a bit dated and 'tacky' as they were meant to be shaped like relevant objects. (library-book, church-candle). Also it was quite difficult to be sold to it when the halls are described as 'grubby' or so 'stuck up' that you wouldn't make friends. And that the pharmacy is good because you will find yourself ill. So overall i'm going to be dirty, and ill with no friends?

I wasn't really expecting to be woo-ed by Sussex anyways really, I didn't hear anything about music and I think I am leaning towards the conservatoire route. Anyways when I did get home we couldn't get into our road because it was closed. We weren't told that it was going to be closed, but we knew we couldn't park in the main road due to re-surfacing. But they let us through to get our car by our garage which was nice. I love the smell of the fresh tarmac, the vibrations running through the whole house, and the big machines and diggers outside :) This was just a sneaky photo of some of the workers hard at work. It's so lovely and smooth, tempting to go roll in it!
