Spendy Monday

This is the mike that I bought today in Maplin. We bought one on Saturday but it was general purpose and not vocal dynamic so it had to go back. This is an AKD 5S - an altogether more serious piece of kit. Not serious enough to come with it's own cable so the price went up again til it ended up just as cheap to keep the original mike to use it's (included) cable.

More Monday news - we are unexpectedly about to rent a holiday flat for 6 months in Anstruther just a street back from the famous fish and chip restaurant. It is beautifully appointed with 2 bedrooms fully fitted kitchen, built in fridge freezer, dishwasher and sea view. This is to be Melly's student accommodation for the next 2 semesters due to unplanned homelessness and works out only slightly more expensive than a room in a semi in St Andrews shared between three. She seems buzzed by the location, independence, luxury and isn't phased by the 9 mile commute. Doesn't seem like student accommodation to me. We can take turns to weekend visit and experience winter on the Fife coast. Didn't see that coming :)
