In the midst of all the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh there are places of serenity within. A hallway in the Bahia Palace.

The morning saw us go to the Majorelle Gardens. There the trademark yellow and blue were the background to some gorgoues plants - in the centre was a pond with some water litlies. A memorial to Yves Saint Laurent is at the back as he bought a house nearby and saved the gardens from being destroyed.

Later on we went to the Bahia Palace where a riot of patterns were on the walls - an attendant watched as the many groups of tourists were walking by by.

We visited the Saadian tombs after that - the heat was getting to us so we went for lunch in the Kozybar. We'd booked a massage and hammam for the afternoon - so we went back to the hotel to chill for a little before our appointment.

After the relaxing massage and cleansing of the hammam (I of course had to spoil the effect by sitting on the sunlounger at the wrong bit and going head over heels as it flipped up) we headed out for some beer and some fabulous food at Al Fassia.
