A Ray Of Hope

As I drove to work this morning I had a ray of hope that today would be better, indeed it was. However, as I walked through the back door my assistant was already in and waiting to tell me that I had broken egg all over my window!

Immediately I had to get out on the pavement cleaning it off. It must have been done last night, all three eggs were well and truly stuck on.

So what have I done wrong?

Could it be that I was seen yesterday with 3 other shopkeepers/managers and the Community Police Officer having my photo taken for the local paper? Why? We care about reducing crime in our town.

Most of our town's shops are eager to display a notice banning recently convicted shoplifters from their premises. That sounds fine but, to enable this system, representatives of the businesses have to be willing to attend a monthly meeting to do the paperwork and discuss the cases. Guess what? Only 4 or 5 businesses are willing to spare staff for an hour a month to do this.

Oh, well! Somebody doesn't like me. We have to stand up against crime. Mostly it's schoolchildren we're trying to save from getting any deeper into crime.

Anyhow, once the clean-up was over I had a great day creating a new look to the shop window, very autumnal, very amber. "Very nice!" said my asssistant!
