quiet times

Needed some new scenery after having been to Cornwall Park for the last two days -although I must say that there is still much more to see there so you will definitely see shots from Cornwall Park again on my future Blips!

Today I stopped at Waikaraka Cemetery on the way past after work. It is still an operational cemetery and the first burial was in September 1890.

Saw some Kingfisher birds and managed to capture a pair sitting on a headstone each.
I had only ever seen Kingfishers in the native forest areas of the country and it seemed a bit strange to see them in a cemetery!

It wasn't raining today which was a nice change and I got shots of many old elaborate headstones and statues and away from the quiet of the cemetery got some bright vibrant flower shots, so quite the contrast today.

I have much to learn about my camera but I am enjoying it!
