First signs of autumn

Rainy Kyoto. We felt optimistic and hired bikes despite the grey clouds overhead and headed out for Kyoto Castle, Nijo-Jo ( yep another World Heritage Site!). It was a really old building, to enter it we had to take our shoes off and walk barefoot across `nightingale floorboards` designed to hum and warn of approaching visitors or intruders.

We got soaked exploring the gardens and headed back to our hostel early. It`s nice to have an afternoon to relax and plan our next move. Hiroshima tomorrow hopefully on the bullet train!
