Dahlia?

I've got a whole bunch of these lovely flowers on bushes in the front garden. I did a google search and they look most like dahlias. If anyone knows it would save me from having to call my mom!

It's funny, there are so many things I want to take photos of but I never feel like I can do them justice. Like the Theatre royal's grand facade, or the girl who had really really bright red hair outside the pub, or the way the afternoon sunlight shone through the leaves on the trees by the metro station, glinting over the edges.

How can I capture these things!?
