One Is Enough

I'm not a fan of dahlias en masse -- they are such showy, bright flowers -- but when one of the vendors at our local farmers' market offered me this "orphan" with a broken stem, I brought it home and popped it into one of my favorite blue glass bowls.

I love the contrasting colors and textures.
