On the wing

On our walk this afternoon we saw this skein of geese flying overhead. They stay here all year long, so weren't heading south, just looking for a night time roost.

It's been a birdy kind of day. Started off doing the dishes this morning while watching gannets diving in the bay. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky we are!

But the wind and rain have continued to batter us all day . . . ceaselessly . . . .
