the view from the roof
So, today we actually went for a drive to see some of the countryside... partly because we wanted to see things, and partly because it was so darn windy we couldn't even sit on the roof to read our books!
So we drove to the coast, and then along the coast roads, looking at the sea, the sand and the sunshine. A couple of times we got out of the car and hurriedly got back in again - the sand whipped up in the wind was akin to being sand-blasted. I did take some nice photos of Cape Trafalgar and the Bay of Souls (so named because of the incredibly dangerous currents - it's the point at which the Med meets the Atlantic, and not many swimmers get out alive. And, history-fans, it's also the place where the Battle of Trafalgar took place; arguably Nelson's most famous and definitely his last battle).
But the reason I didn't blip a photo of that, was because I took this photo from the roof of our temporary home, and rather liked it. This is the Plaza de Espana at night - looks just as lovely during the day, but it's striking at night isn't it?
