Baltic Herring Fair

Just sunshine all day, so i somehow came again to the Herring Fair.
Coming to the market is a firm tradition in the families of fishermen. Jukka Porkka from Kotka has brought his own boat, i don't know how many years. His father Erkki Porkka came for 50 years. The Porkka's Vivian is a beautiful hundred-foot sailboat built in 1948. On the opening day, the Baltic Herring Fair always arranges a herring product competition. You can see the Porkka family's trophy cups. Impressive! Each family guards its own recipes from generation to generation. I tasted their products. They were delicious. Still three days the beautiful old boats are here. Next Sunday night they shall sail away.
