Fireman Sam
Okay, so his name was Richard, but he's still a fireman.
I went to a Social Evening tonight at Swansea Grand Theatre and our guest speaker was from the fire service and he gave us all a talk about fire safety in the home. Quiet an interesting talk really.
Did you know:-
In Wales, there are over 170 house fires each day - a staggering number.
A chip pan that catches fire can cause up to an estimated £30,000 worth of damage? Luckily, I dont own one!!!
It costs £985/hr for 1 fire engine to be called out?
It's been a naff day here today weatherwise, but despite that we had a fair number of people at the talk. It was lovely to see new faces too. We even had a four legged friend there tonight. Her name was Polly and she's a guide dog. She didn't make a sound the whole time. Such wonderful dogs.
So, we hold our final social evening this year on 2 November (no social evening in December) and it will be "Christmassy". Local blippers among you, come along and say hi. You'll be most welcome.
