Piles of Rectangles

When I am working in the studio drawing compositions for paintings, I know that my work is referenced in the piles of rectangles that I am constantly fascinated with in the urban landscape. But because I also look at quilts, like those of the women from Gee's Bend which are my favorites as they are kind of crookedy and a little free from within the architectural reference, I will wonder where my drawings come from.

However, no matter what I plan for a days photo, so often I end up with one similar to this. They intersections of the rectangles never fail to fascinate me and I am sure I was meant to build buildings.
