Virga

I can never remember what this weather phenomenon is called, so I have to look it up every time in my weather field guide! "Precipitation always falls from cumulonimbus clouds, although in dry regions, it may evaporate before reaching the ground. Such evaporating precipitation is known as virga." I love the way it looks!

Today has been a learning day--my head is still spinning as I try to absorb what I've heard and felt. My Christmas sock is 8 rounds big--hope this made up pattern works! Christmas definitely feels like it's coming today, the high was 51! I've got 2 jackets on--I refuse to build a fire yet!!
