newcomers' dinner

even though i am living in one of the more non-traditional colleges, they still put on a number of fancy, dress-up events for students. all freshers get to attend one newcomers' dinner in which they sit with their college advisor and make small talk. it's quite something else. i sat next to a fellow who was researching stuff about physics but on the theoretical end of things. i am not one to pretend to understand most science-related fields, so i'm glad that he offered me travel tips on where to go in europe. four of us managed to remember to take a group picture, so i leave you with a photo of myself for once!
