Waratah

This is the floral emblem for NSW and what a beauty it is too. Waratah (Telopea speciosissima) My mum had a bush and we used to have Waratahs on tap for many years and then one day it turned up it's toes and committed Hari Kari. It seems to grow easily in the Blue Mountains and in impoverished soils. Not a chance in my clay soils here.

A grey old day today and now drizzling. Ho hum, looks set in for a few more days.
