Beauty Around Us

Hamam

This day we went to Nablus, the city were I lived last year for a couple of months. It's a very lively and friendly big city in the West Bank. But what we actually came for -with a group of women- was the Hamam. The turkish bathhouse from the Ottoman times.

It was a day full of warmth (literally and figuratively). A day of pleasure and relaxing (with massages). We heard the stories of a girl getting married to someone in Dubai, being here for her bachelor party. And we saw the women laughing out load, dancing and smoking. Which is why the picture is rather dull. Nablus is conservative, and when the women inside the bathhouse are not fully covered there shouldn't be any pictures made.

Although I would never want to live in a conservative society and I don't wish for others to live in it, I do like the women's world behind it.
