Three Apples that changed the world
I woke up this morning to the sad news that Steve Jobs, the Co-founder of Apple Inc had passed away.
He single handedly changed the world of technology. Some said he made it sexy. I always like to think he made technology accessable for dummies like me who didn't have a clue.
The first time I used a MacIntosh, I was in my final year at college. Now don't get me wrong, I thought I was cutting edge using an electric typewriter for my college projects (as someone who Despised ... yes with the capital D word processing ... all those functions so little time) Apple was the window of opportunity ... I was hooked along with my hard disc. Lettraset? Typography at the touch of a button. It was love at first touch.
I always loved the simplicity and design of Apple and although I coveted almost every gadget in my dreams my pennies just never stretched that far.
I was lucky, very very lucky ... to win my Ipod in a raffle. I had tried to use an MP3 player without success ... The Ipod like the MacIntosh before.... opened doors I never thought about, the possibilities of music ... yes ... I was hooked.
I didn't know until today, he was even the magical wizard behind Pixar films .. A technical pioneer of the late 20th century blazing a trail into the second decade of the 21st ...
I saw a tribute to him on Twitter (via @VanStrag) it read ...
3 apples that changed the world: the one that Eve ate, the one that fell on Newton's head and the one Steve Jobs created.
Very true indeed!
