canal houses

Well, as it's our last full day in Amsterdam I ought to post a picture of canal houses, really.

It's a beautiful city and we've had a great time- much wandering, many museums (including the new and brilliantly visual and innovative Het Grachtenhuis, a museum charting the history of the city's canals), a little bike riding, a boat, many beers and brandywines, plus sunshine, rain, a little thunder and some hail. We've eaten so well, and spent a great evening catching up with old friends.

Neither of us are very excited about returning to Beijing tomorrow, but holidays wouldn't be so good if you had them all the time. Right?
