Yesterday, when driving to Penicuik I was listening to a discussion on Radio Scotland about Maggie's Centres. These buildings, always unique, are designed by world leading architects such as Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid to give people affected by cancer, along with their families and carers, beautiful surroundings.
The discussion centred on whether these buildings were a waste of effort.
Personally, I don't understand how anyone cannot see that great design benefits people in immeasurable ways.
Steve Jobs proved that great design is a key differentiator - the MacBook (computing), iPod (music), iPhone (communication) , Pixar (films).....each one exquisite.
Steve Jobs - thank you and RIP.
