"Occupy D.C."

You might have heard of the "We Are The 99 Percent" movement, which recently occupied streets and bridges in New York, to protest against corporate greed.

It's a spontaneous popular movement, which is garnering some speed across the country. Today and through sunday, the group is staging some activities in Washington.

I strolled over to their gathering today to see what this was all about (and because the weather was just stupendous and I needed a blip!). Motley crew, it was: a bit 'hippy like', lots of tie dies and tatoos, lots of signs with different causes, people playing drums, a rapper on stage, a country band in another corner. All very "bon enfant"
