Qutub Minar, Delhi
Day 2 and stopped here in the early morning before we set off for Agra. Built by the Moghuls in the 13th Century, this was an oasis of peace in the general rush hour traffic on the outskirts of Delhi, with just the chatter of green parakeets flying amongst the ruins. Apparently the iron pillar is something of a scientific miracle, dating from 400 ad and still showing no signs of rust. From here it was a long journey to Agra, broken by a visit to the Moghul Emperor Akhbar's Tomb at Sikandra.
