The New Pier.

We're at war in Afghanistan. We're at war in Iraq. We have garrisoned troops in the Falklands, Cyprus and loads of other places round the world.

The British Army is under pressure to fulfil it role.

But! and this is a Big But, so to speak, they still have time to build us a new pier.

Now how cool is that?

It's not quite finished but the Boys In Drab Olive camped in the village hall, brought in their heavy gear and got stuck in.

The result is a rather smart wee pier, just right for a floating pontoon and a grand spot for casting a mackerel fly.

Another blipper caught an action shot, which shows the whole project. When I say 'action' I mean that in a West Highland way.


....and as you can see it was a bit of a splendid day too.
