Fire!

No, not the worst single U2 ever released. Was woken up at 2:15 with lots of blue flashing lights outside. Three fire engines were in the road, plus an ambulance, with fire fighters tackling a blaze in the house opposite. Just before this photo a fireman went up the ladder, smashed the window and helped a guy down. Thankfully he was the only person in the house. The two houses either side were evacuated and we let them come and wait in our lounge. 4 adults and 4 children till 4:30. Lots of tea making, chatting with police and watching the fireman smashing windows and the ceiling and hosing water everywhere, until they were allowed back in. The downstairs flat is gutted and most of today a CSI team were there as they think it might be arson.

I stupidly got up for the rugby at 6 and, as I went to bed gone 12, I didn't get much sleep last night. That's two fires I've seen in Southsea in the last couple of months.
