A dreich day

"A combination of dull, overcast, drizzly, cold, misty and miserable weather. At least 4 of the above adjectives must apply before the weather is truly dreich."

The 18th Haltwhistle Walking Festival started today in somewhat less than perfect weather. Those of us travelling west to Bewcastle hoped against hope that the mist would lift and the rain stop. We wanted to see the amazing views from Christianbury Crags. The rain did stop, but we were in mist all day with 100% humidity.

As usual we did our best to enjoy the day. Here is our leader, H, who did everything in his power to keep us all happy (although hist 14 mile walk did turn out to be 15+)

I'm hoping against hope that my boots will dry out before tomorrow morning's walk.
