Days of Heaven
I went to Queens Film Theatre in Belfast this evening on my way home from work, partly to avoid the awful reality TV shows on every Saturday evening, but mostly for a chance to see Malick's 1978 cinematic masterpiece, Days of Heaven, on the big screen.
I've watched it before, but having spent the last two years taking photographs and practicing composition, I must say that it is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. The fairly constant stream of Blippable images for the one hour and thirty four minutes of the movie had me itching to get out into fields of golden wheat in the dawn or the dusk. Recommended, even on the small screen.
And back to reality...
This is Ballyholme this evening including Ballyholme Yacht Club to the right. Everywhere to the right of this crop is beach and sea. Those living here have one of the nicest views in North Down, but pay mightily for the privilege.
