The next president

This morning at 10.30 Martin McGuinness came walkabout to Loughrea on his election campaign. That's him on the right and my husband on the left.
This photo is of interest to me as for years myself and my husband (also from Derry) have had an ongoing discussions as to who is the taller, myself or himself. I am sure it is me and he is sure that it is him. Anyway, I have always said that the men of Derry are not at all tall. He has always hailed Martin McGuinness as an example of a tall man from Derry but today I'm afraid I proved this as not so - only an inch or two taller than my aforementioned husband! He may be a giant among men of politics but I'm afraid in the literal sense he is only a giant amongst the men of Derry.
