Indian Summer Day
We drove to Portland to visit family and friends, and walked through the Reed College Campus which is lovely. This stream is just below campus with a nice trail that runs a good mile or so.
During the drive down from Seattle I could not stop noticing light as it reflected off the leaves of still green deciduous trees. I wonder if it seemed brighter today because of the lower angle of the sun? Then I thought how interesting it would be to set up a photo project that shot the same tree through all seasons. But of course this would be complicated by the sun being covered by cloud cover so much of the time in the northwest changing the light more dramatically than just the angle of the sun would as its position changed throughout the year. And there is the problem of the loss of leaves. Fir trees simply do not reflect the light in the same way.
