mesmerized - making coffee on a gas cooker

I went out this afternoon to pick up some much needed coffee and came home with three bags of groceries and a brilliant book from oxfam. It's filled with wonderful images and descriptions of everyday unusual objects from around the world like edible plates, devil's gut powder, chin wigs, strange sex related paraphernalia and some very cute lovers mittens from Norway consisting of three matching mittens. Two for the outside and one shared mitten allowing you hold hands with your partner and stay warm through those frosty Norwegian winters all at the same time. Oh how I adore images, oddities and coffee.

Now I'm off to find a bagel recipe on the net as I just can't seem to find anywhere that sells decent bagels in this city.
