And all for a Drunken Cake?
''They'' promised something like clouds and intermittent showers today. Basically, I think that translates as ''When it's not raining it'll PISS DOWN.''
Barely crossed the threshold a.m.
p.m.
Took off for Windermere and a visit to ''Lakeland'' (Lakeland Plastics as was) for a few odds and sods. Amongst which was a ''Jelly bag'' for straining juices etc. Good idea: badly carried out. It looked good in the catalogue, in real life it was 1/2 the size we'd have liked, got it anyway along with some Wynad© pepper (GOOD stuff), a panscrubby sort of thingy and, of course, Christmas AAaaaaaargh lurking around the metaphorical corner, ''il PANBRIACONE''. Do not eat and drive. Imagine a Panettone with ''.....sweet dessert wine (20%) 15% vol, .....''
Ugly rumour has it it doesn't stand a celluloid cat in hell's chance of seeing Christmas. Nothing to do with the fact that it claims to be ''Produced without preserving and coluring''. Preserving? Who needs preserving when your ''half-cut''.
BTW Clicky, just in case he should mention it ... We saw Mike Mac... and sat next table to catch up with the crack over a cuppa.
The intention was to return via Hayes at Ambleside for a quick decko at the decorations. Rain stopped play on account of the fact that we didn't see much point.
1. Sunday ergo double the customers.
2. Didn't want/need any further plants for now.
3. Didn't fancy an extra-mural wander in the wet.
